I’m from a suburban town in Fukuoka, Japan, blessed with abundant nature, where mountains, rice fields, and the sea stretch out. In my childhood, I had a strong interest in ball sports, but I also loved history and art especially painting. However, I never considered allowing myself the opportunity to engage more seriously with art.

In 1995 I followed my intuition and moved from Japan to Seattle, U.S.A. Living in an unfamiliar country and confronting myself allowed me to clarify what I truly wanted to pursue. I came to realize that the answer lay in the passion within me to explore art. From then on, art became the direction of my life.

When I first moved to San Diego and began studying art, I was uncertain about what to depict and painted without a clear direction. Through traveling across various countries and cities and accumulating diverse experiences, I gradually developed the ability to express in my work the images I wished to share, the emotions I wanted to record, and the artistic forms that resonate with me personally.
